Dome label pricing combines printed-area cost with PU resin volume cost. Understanding the cost drivers helps you specify economically.
📌 1. Label Dimension and Resin Volume
Dome volume scales with surface area, not perimeter. A 50 mm dome uses ~4× the resin of a 25 mm dome. PU resin is the dominant material cost — keep dimensions appropriate to the application.
📌 2. Run Length
Setup is similar for any run size; longer runs amortise setup. Below 100 pieces the per-piece cost is high. The sweet spot is 500–5000 pieces.
📌 3. Number of Colours
UV digital print supports unlimited colours and gradients at no extra cost. Screen printing per colour adds plate setup. Photographic logos run more cheaply on UV digital; solid Pantone runs more cheaply on screen.
📌 4. Cutting Complexity
Standard round, oval and rectangular shapes use stock cutting paths. Complex freeform contours require custom cutting tooling, which is amortised across the run.
📌 5. Backing and Special Adhesive
Standard 3M acrylic adhesive is included. Foam-backed adhesive for curved helmets, special temperature-rated adhesive and removable adhesive are available with surcharge.
