TPU patches (sometimes called rubber patches or 3D sport patches) are 3D-embossed labels in thermoplastic polyurethane — the modern, recyclable, REACH-compliant alternative to PVC patches.

📌 Material Characteristics

  • Soft-touch rubbery feel — premium tactile quality
  • Recyclable thermoplastic — no PVC plasticisers
  • Industrial-wash safe to 90 °C
  • Cold-weather flexible to -30 °C
  • Multi-colour HF print + emboss in one operation

📌 How They Are Made

TPU film is loaded into a high-frequency welding press with a steel die that contains the desired emboss pattern. RF energy fuses and shapes the film against the die. The result: a 3D embossed patch with sharp edges and rich colour.

📌 Where TPU Patches Excel

Premium sportswear (football, basketball, rugby club kit), high-end footwear, technical outerwear, outdoor packs and tents, fashion accessories. Anywhere PVC was previously used but sustainability and premium feel now matter.

📌 Backing Options

Heat-seal backing for footwear and sportswear (most common). Sew-on backing for traditional garment placement. Self-adhesive backing for short-life applications and accessories.

📌 MOQ and Lead Time

From 500 pieces after the steel die is made. First-order lead time including die: 12–18 business days. Re-orders against existing die: 8–12 business days.
